Maybe both: Occurrence of a dry socket is normally 3-5 days after an extraction, and many patients describe the pain as being worse than the original toothache. An infection with severe swelling could cause more pain also. Seek care to have it evaluated and treated.

Hello, 5 days ago I had a molar extracted due to infection. Things were going fine healing until today I noticed a green tint in my socket and also a white film over 1/4 of it. Is my socket infected? I haven't noticed any odor.
I've lost the blood clot on my molar less than 24 hours after extraction. Will I now definitely get dry socket? The pain is only slightly worse now.

Hi! molar extracted. Nearly 6 days ago. Toothgauze was in for over 4 hrs. Since thenwhite substance grown in socket but I rinsed now and white gone. It's a small hole now but not gaping. No pain but worrried about dry socket. Advice appreciated ?
