Iron overload: Genetic or acquired iron overload can happen late in women. Hemochromatosis secondary to C282Y MUTATION can be tested and is, most common among them and may cause issues in other organs but this may not be genetic but acquired from excessive transfusion or iron pills. Hence After this liver bx, get tested for ferritin, Plus hemochromatosis genes panel and see your GI doc.
