Lid abcess?: I am guessing that you had a stye that had grown to abcess proportions, removed under local. The procedure usually is painless (except for the injection of the anesthetic which if done very slowly usually hardly hurts). After removal there may be some tenderness to the touch but sharp pain is rare. I don't give pain medications because if it hurts afterwards, I want a phone call. Do that.
