Yes: Blocks placed for surgery can last anywhere up to 15 to 20 hours or so. Any longer than this i would consider talking to your anesthesiologist.

I recently had rotator cuff surgery. If i hold my arm in certain positions, part of my hand and last 2 fingers become very numb.
Had carpal tunnel surgery back in 2009 and my fingers and arm are still going numb and wake me up out of my sleep... What could this be?
Should I have surgery or not? The pain management gave me the choice of steroid shots or surgery for stenosis at C5. The pain has subsided even before the 2 steroid shots but is still there. Numbness in my arm/hand when raised?
