Side effects: NAC is very safe for most people. It should not be used if you have asthma or a history of asthma or if you have a bleeding disorder as it can impair clotting. Other side effects include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Although it often chelates metabolites in the liver, it can cause liver toxicity and should be avoided if you have liver issues, take numerous medications or drink frequently
