Not always: Good sleep requires a variety "stages", seen on EEG; during one, we dream, tho we might forget by morning. Bad sleep disrupted by pain, drugs, snoring, etc. is "non-restorative", but could still dream. Antihistamines (diphenhydramine) or alcohol, though causing grogginess, intereferes w/ sleep cycles = bad sleep. Problems? See provider for better medication, sleep study. See sleep specialist.
