A member asked:

Sometimes i have dreams where i find myself kicking at night. im usually defending myself in the dream. no punching no outbursts nothing else. does this mean i have rapid sleep behavior disorder?

Possibly, but the best way to confirm or disconfirm is via an overnight sleep study. Since a REM sleep disorder can be the first sign of Parkinson's or Lewy Body Disease, it might be worthwhile to further investigate this.

Recurrent nightmares can be treated by a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in multiple types of psychotherapy and by Psychotropic medications prescribed by a Psychiatrist. A sleep study will give you further diagnostic information about your health.
