Had carpal tunnel surgery 4 days ago. still hurts pretty good. and now looks like the incision is splitting and it's still draining. is this normal?

Elevation: it sounds like you may be doing too much with your hand. Keep it elevated to your heart level, and exrcise fingers gently, but do not strain. If the incision is opening, it may be swollen because of keeping hand too low. You should call your surgeon.
