Drop thought: Your anxiety is caused by your catastrophic thoughts that you'll fail, be embarrassed, etc. You can challenge and drop those thoughts and replace them with more helpful thoughts. Also try energy tapping and deep breathing to relieve the anxiety.

Build confidence: In addition to challenging thoughts build confidence by rehearsal of different parts of the test, including the written test (make flashcards) and driving scenarios - enlist different people to ride with you. Consider including simple breathing skills into your rehearsal activities (before/during tests) use this skill to focus your attention to the goal. Finally test at your pace. Good luck!

CBT: Seek a cognitive-behavioral therapist who specializes in phobias. One method they use is systematic desensitization which slowly and incrementally brings the person closer and closer to the thing they are afraid of in slow, graduated steps that help make the anxiety more tolerable.

Visualization can: be a powerful tool. Use your various senses to create the experience in your mind-body. Start small and build up to the actual test. Baby steps are good. If you have time you can see a clinical psychologist for anxiety management or systematic desensitization. Peace and good health.

It could be a special small gift or article of clothing, something that you associate with good feelings and confidence. I make pocket reminder cards for many of my patients, personalized, such as 'I can do this' and they put them in their wallet, where they will see them
