See below: It's not possible to diagnose an illness just on the basis of isolated lab results. Interpretation depends upon the clinical context. Many conditions can cause elevation of the platelet count, CRP, amylase, WBC and monocytes. Mumps and pancreatitis can cause elevation of amylase and the other labs. Except for the high amylase, various other infections can also cause these laboratory results.
