Could be: A flu or flu like syndrome could cause your throat to be red, dry, and /or sore because of the infection's residual toxins, from coughing or from the start of a different infection because your immune system is down. Certain degree of dehydration could be present from general dehydration and possibly mouth breathing. Drink fluids,suck lozengers, breath through nose. See MD if persists.
