Yeah...you're right: I never disagree with a woman who's right & recognizes that taking someone else's medications is NEVER a good idea, pregnant or not. Your baby will be OK if you don't do that again. You need to talk to your OB/GYN & your husband. Tell him to hide his pills & under no circumstance should he reveal their hiding place. You need to talk to a professional about stress management. All the best.

Risky: This needs to be discussed with your obstetrician. It is unclear what degree of risk is present with the Xanax, (alprazolam) but also with your stress. Whatever you take or don't should be in conjubction with your obstetrician.

STOP TAKING IT!!!: At 33 weeks, it is not likely to cause damage, because all organs have already been formed, but of all the benzodiazepine drugs, Xanax (alprazolam) is the worst one for causing birth defects and is CONTRAINDICATED in pregnancy. You need to talk to your obstetrician or PCP about your stress, and learn other ways of dealing with it. If you take it regularly, you will become dependent on it, and so can the baby
