Psychiatrist: Xanax (alprazolam) has a pregnancy category of D. I'd suggest talking all of the risks over with your OB/GYN and a psychiatrist. Xanax (alprazolam) is not recommended during pregnancy because it enters the breast milk and has been demonstrated to increase the risk of congenital abnormalities. A psychiatrist can offer much safer alternatives than this. Hope that helps!
