Fibroadenoma: Fibroadenomas in the breast are firm masses and can be felt on inspection (palpation) and yes, can be seen on ultrasound. Usually, you don't need ultrasound to see them. If you are talking about fibroids in the uterus (not fibroadenomas of the breast), yes they can be seen on ultrasound. Usually, they grow slow and can be multiple in number. They are benign growth and can cause excessive bleeding

Better felt thenseen: Breast fibroadenomas are often better felt than seen by ultrasound. The are firm, rubbery and movable in th breast. If you have a breast mass, don't guess have a MD evaluate it and if needed the "gold standard" is a biopsy where a tissue diagnosis can be made.
