Best to know why: This is likely the result of a viral or bacterial (strep) infection or an allergic reaction. The former is more likely; most alarming associated allergic symptom would be trouble breathing. If you have that, go to ER! Drinking cold fluids may help the swelling; most important is knowing the cause. If you have a fever, feel ill, see your doctor. Otherwise, ok to watch for a day or two.
