Crystal Ball: Impossible to predict the future. You are already in pain from what is probably an infection. Would you allow any other infection to go untreated for more than a week? Please call your Dentist and see if they can arrange an emergency appointment for you in the next day or so.

Hard to say: Problems like this tend to "blow up" at the most inopportune time. Although your tooth will not decay appreciably in the next week, the pain may escalate. It's your call..

See a dentist ASAP: A tooth pain won't go away without treatment and the infection may spread to your jaw, cheeks, sinus and to other areas of your head and neck. OTC pain medications such as NSAIDs or Tylenol, (acetaminophen) can all reduce the pain, but none of these treats the cause. Visit a dentist ASAP for definitive diagnosis and treatment.
