Asthma & Obesity: Obesity (being overweight) caused by overeating can definitely cause worsening of asthma and put undo stress on lungs. Obesity can cause whats called a restrictive pattern on pulmonary function testing due to excess weight on chest wall. Also asthma control can worsen with increased weight gain.
