Yes: You will need to immobilize it, most likely with some sort of splint. May also need X-rays. See an orthopedic surgeon for a proper evaluation. Your don't want to over use it, and make it worse in the future if you can do some things now to prevent that. Hope this helps!

Sliding Scale: After 4 weeks or is it 3 weeks, it depends on the initial trauma date or the secondary trauma date, and it is still swollen and painful. Go figure. The swelling in your ankle is telling you this needs to be immobilized and right soon. Crutches would be nice until you can see an expert and have him (her) offer up a considered opinion and treatment plan.
