See below: See your doctor first to confirm the diagnosis of migraine. He may treat you first with medications. If headache persists, MRI scan of head is the preferred imaging study to r/o CNS lesions. Ct scan is better if your facial pain is from sinusitis.

Not necessarily: Approximately, 98% of brain imaging in migraine shows no structural risk factors causing the headaches, and in most cases, it is a waste of money and resources. If you have some clinical finding on a neurological exam suggesting intracranial problems, then the films are appropriate. Would see a neurologist and get this managed. Should turn out very well.

Depends: I would consult with your dr. And consider a second opinion. But ct scans and MRI definitely help in determining or narrowing down the potential causes. It may tell the dr. That other options are needed to be explored- tmj/tmd, etc.

MRI: Hi, If the diagnosis headaches thought to be migraines, then further imaging is often not necessary. However, if the migraine is atypical and there is concern for other etiologies (causes) of HA or head pain, then I would recommend MRI over CT. Good luck
