A member asked:

What heart tests are done before a decision for a heart cath .ive had several . ekg, stressecho, ct score, lexiscan, echo, 21 day monitor. all normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Risk: A heart cath is an invasive procedure with small but definite risks including stroke, heart attack, and death. The risk is well worth taking if non-invasive tests suggest serious disease, but it is never done because of curiosity or to satisfy a whim without good reason.
