A member asked:

My daughter's usg brain report says "a scalp hematoma measuring 11.3 x 3.5 mms is seen over the left parietal area."i am afraid. what should i do .

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Puzzling question: A scalp hematoma means there is a collection of blood under the skin of the scalp. This usually reflects a broken blood vessel from trauma. It usually hurts, can persist for days or weeks, but has little if any importance. It is not by itself any sort of brain injury. It is not inside the skull.
