A member asked:

My dentist filed some of the porcelain off my bridge to help my bite. should the bridge be replaced?

Not necessarily: Your dentist would know if there was enough porcelain there to file some off and still have sufficient strength for the tooth. I think your dentist would tell you if you needed the bridge replaced. Often some porcelain can be filed off and this causes no problem.

Probably not: If the fit of the bridge on the teeth is good, there is no reason to replace the bridge.

Very common: Your dentist can adjust the bridge to restore the balance and force of your bite. It can be done before or even after permanent cementation.
