A member asked:

Azithromycin vs trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. which would be better to go clean up acne and scars?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Acne Rx: First, antibiotics should never, ever be used as sole therapy for acne. Topical benzoyl peroxide and/or retinoic acid are your best friends. Second, nothing will touch your scars -- I'm sorry your acne was neglected and you got scars in the first place. If you're offered isotretinoin, consider it seriously. The tetracyclines, erythromycin, or topical clindamycin, may be more helpful.
