Age a problem: Fertility declines each year if you are over 40. If you are still having regular periods you have a chance but you should consult a doctor specializing in reproductive endocrinology very soon. If periods have stopped it is much more difficult to conceive

You can do it!: i would recommend a referral to a good reproductive gynecologist, your GP can provide. There are new techniques in in vitro fertilization and implantation that can help you. It should start with a thorough evaluation of both partners. Take comfort in the recent news about a woman in her 60's in Germany giving birth. Good luck:)
