Strong!: Obesity is in epidemic form in the U.S. The most important cause is the "junk", particularly sugary stuff, ice cream, sodas including, sweeteners etc. The taste mechanism is a signal to the brain that gives pleasure. It should be a combination of sweet, sour, bitter, astringent, salt and metal that gives flavor as appredciated in all "god made" food. Obesity is a reflection of hedonism.

Childhood obesity is a strong predictor of obesity in adulthood. The risk is as high as 70% if the child is overweight at the age of >10.
