Muscle strain vs ?: Most likely, she sustained a muscle strain but if it continues or worsens, it's obviously more serious. Typical muscle strains can be managed w/rest, ice, compression & elevation (last 2 may be difficult in this situation) as well as OTC pain relievers. If OTC meds aren't enough or if she develops shortness of breath (difficulty breathing) she needs to be evaluated immediately.
