5 year olds eye was dark underneath and puffy earlier but now her eye ball looks irritated and she says it hurts but still puffy and dark underneath ?

Sounds like she: may have had some type of trauma to the eye with now inflammation. A red irritated eye could be a number of things. She could have a corneal abrasion, or traumatic iritis (which is inflammation in the eye after trauma to it). I would seek an eye evaluation promptly in someone so young, as they likely won't be able to articulate everything they are feeling. They likely need treatment. Good luck!
