Drugs might alter: symptoms a little but do not solve life problems or help people better understand how to deal with them. Help far more likely from allowing/encouraging him to talk about, in detail, his night terrors while avoiding belittling, scoffing or in way not-respecting his fears & any of the possible underlying reasons for them; share own experiences about bad dreams & life difficulties, etc. Good luck.
