Recommend biopsy: Skin lesion that has been present for years and starts to change size, color or starts to bleed should be seen by dermatologist and biopsies to determine the diagnosis. Sounds like it could be a dermatofibroma, which is benign. But need biopsy to be sure

Evaluation.: Long standing tissue lumps are generally fine, except when they start to change. These changes can be in color, size, firmness and even tenderness. It is best to have it evaluated by a specialist .

Dermatofibroma: would not bleed unless you were picking at it. Or, it it scraped against something. I would recommend you see a dermatologist to take a look.
