Absolutely: Inflamed gingiva would be called gingivitis. If left untreated, it could turn into periodontitis and loss of teeth. Your post leaves much to the imagination as to how often you go to the dentist and why. Brush and floss better (have your dentist show you how) and go for professional cleanings every 3 months until your gums are no longer inflamed. All the best...

Concerned, yes: There is strong association between inflamed (infected) gums and bone loss, shifting teeth, tooth loss, heart disease, low birth-weight babies, and many other medical problems.
