Not much: Its good for your spirit. Blood has its own way of replenishing itself.
All blood cells have limited life span, after which, the spleen degrades them naturally.

Possible benefit surrounds the opportunity to exchange the body's iron molecules (see "The Iron Elephant," among others, or google "coordination chemistry" for the concept). Just being a hero to three people who you don't know and don't know you should be good!

Dr. Ed Kaplan answered

Can't donate: I'm pretty sure that that would not let you donate , and for good reason- nobody receiving blood wants to acquire a problem with clotting or bleeding.

A 30-year-old member asked:
What do you get for "donating" blood, since it is no longer paid for?
1 doctor answer • 2 doctors weighed in

Dr. Vance Harris answered
Family Medicine 37 years experience
Satisfaction: You get the satisfaction of helping another person without having to be paid for it. I think that is something you cannot buy. We don't have enough people donating blood to meet the need. Way to go.
