Above 130/80: A safe BP is 110-130/65-80 taken sitting and standing. A TIA signals the need to know more about ones heart, bp, cardiac rhythm and carotid arteries. This merits a careful cardiovascular evaluation, including a history, physical exam, ecg, 24 hr holter test, chest x-rays, echocardiogram, and blood and urine tests.
