I'm diagnosed with schizophrenia. my doctor at the time asking if i had head injury. i did, but did not tell them. do i have tbi instead of sz?

I don't know: enough about your condition to say that. However, there are usually some major differences in symptoms between the two. Sometimes there can be multiple issues which contribute to a condition. So, please let your doctor know about your head trauma.
