I don't know: enough about your condition to say that. However, there are usually some major differences in symptoms between the two. Sometimes there can be multiple issues which contribute to a condition. So, please let your doctor know about your head trauma.

Likely schizophrenia: The symptoms of TBI are very different than schizophrenia. It is possible to have both with the TBI complicating the schizophrenia. always give a complete history.

Good question: You may have suffered a traumatic brain injury, and could possess a post-traumatic encephalopathy. However, symptoms of schizophrenia are very different, and a psychiatrist should be very adept at distinguishing one from the other. Neuropsychological testing may be the way to sort out.
