Hyperextension ..: Usually one's abdominal muscles are slightly flexed, a little relaxed, as they support us in the upright posture either sitting or standing. But when you lie prone on your stomach, they are fully extended...maybe even hyperextended. This strains them a bit, and they can be sore afterward. If it is uncomfortable, trying sleeping in other positions. Stay well:)
