Abscess: From the little information you've provided as well as not having a radiograph of the tooth, my guess would be that you have an abscess from either a periodontal defect or a non-vital tooth. Please see a local dentist for further guidance and care.

See a dentist: this should be checked out with an examination and xray. could be simple that the tooth is traumatized by the bite or grinding or it may have an infection,
