Growing stomach: A rumbling or growling stomach is due to muscular contractions of the intestinal wall called peristalsis. Though seldom of medical importance it can be a symptom of diarrhea and increased liquid and gas in the intestines. Diseases associated with malabsorption and partial mechanical obstruction can also cause it. If you have pain or increase gas get worked up.
