Complex Joint: The shoulder is a complex joint, & many conditions/ injuries (rotator cuff injury, bursitits, tendonitis, labral pathology, etc) can cause pain. Some injuries of the shoulder are acute & some are from overuse. While you can certainly start w/ rest, ice, & nsaids (if not a problem for you), i also suggest you see an ortho for a specific treatment plan <a href="<a href="http://drmarkgalland.Com/ca.

Many ways: Before treatment is initiated you need to have a diagnosis. This can be achieved by seeing an orthopedic shoulder specialist. With an exam and history the diagnosis is made. You can confirm with x-rays and an mri. Major considerations at your age would be impingement, tendinitis, cartilage tear, and rotator cuff tear.
