No way to say: If you were exposed, it is possible that you are contracting mononucleosis but it is certainly possible that the fever and headache have another cause. See your PCP to find out for sure what is going on.

Probably not mono: You are correct and the incubation period for mono is 4-6 weeks so what you are experiencing is probably just a cold or other viral syndrome. I would definitely advise against kissing someone with known mono however.
