It is posible.: Metronidazole is a bactericidal anti-microbial used primarily to treat anaerobic infections and should not be used as a single agent against mix infections like would occur in the oral cavity. It is ineffective against yeast infections (thrush). Any antimicrobial agent can induce thrush by disrupting the normal microbial balance. Therefore you should have it evaluated by your dentist.
