Varicose veins.: If your mom has large and symptomatic varicose veins then she should see a vein specialist for a full venous evaluation. This process will identify the source of the varicose veins and help to determine how to correct them. Elevating her legs is OK. Usually sealing the leaking vein valves followed by treating the veins with sclerotherapy or by removal will solve her problem.
