Breathing: Your breathing is working fine when you are asleep so you are better off not thinking about/worrying about it so much. Breathing is automatic but always changes when you are thinking about it. If your breathing issues are affecting your ability to exert yourself as before then a medical evaluation would be justified.

CBT therapy +: I'd start w/ a Clinical Psychologist who can eval and Dx, then Tx and if needed, refer for Rx. If this is the 1st and only 'obsession' it may be a few learning sessions. If it is part of more and OCD is the Dx, it can take time and possibly meds, etc. One step at a time. And,please DO remind yourself to breathe... There are good ways to do it you can learn online!
