Short term use: A sling may help in the short term but I would avoid prolonged use, which could eventually lead to weakness. Try NSAIDs (i.e. ibuprofen, Aleve) and topical treatments such as aspercreme, capsaicin cream. Work on stretches as well: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/398639004490224734/
