Teething: Does not cause fever. 2-3 weeks is a long time for a 20 month old to have a fever. Continue to search for the reason. All the best.

Literature: If you believe the Dental Literature, teething does not cause increased core temperature. That said, I've often seen children with both temperature and erupting teeth simultaneously. Please take your granddaughter to see a Pediatric Dental Specialist. She's 8 months overdue. Important that you see a Pedodontist for best answer to your question.
