500kcal: We recommend eating health & exercising regularly in such a manner as to achieve 500kcal daily deficit. Over a week, that should lead to 3,500kcal loss or approximately 1 pound weight loss which is considered safe. Rather than try to achieve 10 pound loss over short period of time which is also nonsustainable, aim for slow but steady. Think tortoise, rather than hare. Marathon, not sprint.
