Chest pain?: Chest pain isn't necessarily normal for strep, but stomach upset/nausea/vomiting is. Keep an eye on him, and take him into the doctor if the chest pain continues. Hope this helps!

Acid reflux: The symptoms you have described are suggestive of acid reflex, which can be present with or without Strep throat. Acid reflux in and of itself can also cause sore throat. Your pediatrician can help you sort this out!

Normal for what? : Definitely not normal behavior. I think you mean normal symptoms for strep throat? Vomiting can be associated with strep throat for sure. Was his pain resolved with vomiting? What are his symptoms of strep throat? Fever? Contacts with strep at school? Rapid strep positive in office? Is he on antibiotics? We are also seeing viral vomiting illness now across Kentucky, as well. Best of luck!
