Some ideas...: chronic cough, weight loss are some of the standard cancer signs. Chest x ray is good at diagnosing (too late) and helical CT of chest seems a better test.. A simple look down throat rules out throat cancer. Both lung and throat are quite rare without a cigarette or alcohol history.
