Thrombocytopenia: Or low platelets, by the way his platelets are mildly decreased and Aspirin. I assume the question is if it is safe for your dad to take Aspirin. If there is no trend and his platelets have never been low this may be a lab error and would suggest repeating the counts. If still low, it is still safe to take Asa with a dose reduction to half or a quarter for as long as platelets are over 50k.
