I just had an endoscopy and they told me i had "bile gastritis". is this the same as gastritis? what to do about it?

Bile gastritis: Bile gastritis is alkaline, while regular gastritis is acidic. Some doctors will tell you to drink orange juice or something else with some acidity. Also questran, (cholestyramine) a bile acid binder, can be helpful.

Specific vs general: "Gastritis" = stomach inflammation."Bile gastritis" = stomach inflammation from bile, but as there may be changes w/o inflammation, clinical term is "bile gastropathy. "Bile (fluid produced by the liver, stored by gallbladder,&used to digest fat) is refluxing back into the stomach from the duodenum, causing stomach lining irritation. If severe, surgery can cure it. Meds (Urso) may help symptoms.
