It sounds like ..: ... you have been given a copy of your CT scan report. "Sinus disease" would be a very broad label for any number of findings a radiologist could see on the CT scan from thickening of sinus membranes, to fluid, etc. In general this can be ignored if you have no symptoms. No worries about affecting the brain. But review the report in person with you doctor for clarification. Good wishes:)

A CT scan can show:: Air-fluid levels in one or more sinuses Total blockage in one or more sinuses Thickening of the inner lining (mucosa) of the sinuses Mucosal thickening can occur in people without symptoms of sinusitis. Sinus disease rarely affects the brain, but there are rare cases in which severe untreated sinus infections can lead to meningitis.

Headaches: If your CT scan was done for headaches, migraine is related to the process of inflammation. The membranes of the sinuses may also be effected and therefore show up as a case of sinusitis on CT scan. Speak to your doctor who should be able to reassure you.

Description: Many people have low level sinus inflammation often secondary to allergic sinusitis, or prior upper respiratory tract infections. The CAT scan is sensitive to these often subtle findings. This does not necessarily equate to full blown sinus infection. Usually these issues do not effect brain whatsoever.
