The normal microbiome of the colon protects against many forms of inflammation by inducing Fox P3 regulatory cells than minimize inflammation and prevents various forms and degrees of colitis from appearing. Should such inflammation appear mucousy yellowish diarrhea can be seen. Colonoscopy if not performed may be indicated
